Frequently Asked Questions:
1. I haven't excercised in several years and am having trouble just walking up and down steps... I'm not sure I can do this... YES! You absolutely can! All the workouts are scaled to an individuals current fitness level. That means if you are an elite athlete or couch to kitchen wannabe athlete. If you were like me 8 years ago, it meant little running and a lot of walking. You'll get there! It takes time & patience. But most importantly it takes comittment! 2. Your program seems expensive, why is it so much? This program is actually the cheapest one you'll ever find. Consider it comes with about 150 Coached (means I'm there with you) training days. Most training programs like Team in Training have 1 day a week. Some more expensive ones have 2 days a week. If you add it all up, your cost is a little less than 6 dollars a workout! If you can find that somewhere else, let me know!
3. Ok, I just did the math and it seems like your program is cheap. How can you do that? The quick answer is that it won't always be as cheap as it is now, but if you join this plan, and stay on with me as your coach for future goals (see Fitness Philosophy point 2). I will guarantee your price will NOT go up.
4. I'm not sure I understand this meal plan thing? Are you really giving me a meal plan for a whole week? Is that every week? And what about the grocery list... I've never seen anything like it. Please explain! You read right!!! And Yes it's every week!! I believe that in today's current environment personal trainers/coaches/everyone who is a merchant needs to add signficant value. I know when I'm shopping these days I'm always looking for more value. Why should you expect less anywhere? I've spent a considerable amount of my time and money in developing a website that will add this value.
5. Ok, you sold me on your methods, but I can't make any specific training times as my lifestyle is in constant flux and I am traveling a lot. I really want to sign up for the plan though. Is there a way you can train me remotely over the internet or email somehow? Actually I can. It's not ideal to train by yourself but I do understand your dilemma. The price is the same as the biggest portion of my time is communicating with you outside of the workouts. I can also deliver the exact "Bootcamp" workout you'd be doing as well with demonstrations of the excercises on video. Again, that's a value added service that all personal trainers & coaches should be delivering for their athletes!
6. Is the race cost included in the program? No. You will need to register separately for your target race. But if you sign up with me for the training plan, please do not sign up for the race until we've had a chance to speak. If you've already signed up for the race, that's ok, but I am still going to need to speak with you.
7. Do I have to raise money for a charity? No. While I find those pursuits noble, this is about YOU! It's about your journey.
8. I really want to focus on a fast marathon and want to run more than 3 days a week, but I like the idea of the cross training. Will your program be customized for me? For anyone that has demonstrated a base mileage of 40 - 50 miles per week or has been running 30+ miles a week for more than 3 years might benefit from an additional run day. There will be one day per week that is a mixed workout. I will work with you to determine if it is appropriate to run or to cross train on that day.
9. Are you going to yell at me at your "Bootcamp" training days? I don't yell (much). Most people say that I motivate them very well. That is what you can expect.
10. Do you offer any other services like personal training? I do have other services that I offer but at the moment my focus is on group training as I believe training with other people is a very powerful tool for an athletic lifestyle. If you can't make the evening training time I do offer group training at other hours and different prices. You would have to provide the total number of people and the prices are different. At the moment, the minium group size that I am considering is 6 people. Call or email me for a specific training time to see if it's available. Prices vary based on number of people. But this is a type of personal training so please don't expect the 6 dollar a day rate.
