One of the most difficult challenges with marathon training is balancing good "quality" workouts with easy runs and rest. I saw myself reaching new fitness plateaus using Todd's weekly run training formula of 2 to 3 quality workouts per week, with each quality session providing a unique training stimulus from one to the next. This ultimately provided a more rounded training season for me - the various workout routines provided strengthening, conditioning and injury prevention. I used to suffer from nagging injuries by continually pounding out miles, at the same the pace, and on similar terrain. Now, using Todd's advice, I can still pile on daily mileage, but with the added benefits of improved turnover, speed, and strength. I've learned that "rest" is a key component to any fitness plan and the importance of recovery for injury avoidance. The initial build period followed by a more specific period allowed for my mind and body to be "race ready" and in peak condition leading into the taper for the goal marathon. As a result, I'm a faster marathoner, and now looking forward to working with Todd on the next season and more aggressive time goals!.

Coaching focus:
Being coached by Todd Katz was a life changing experience. He had faith in my abilities long before I could see any potential. His professional and exacting coaching skills allowed me to not only reduce my prior marathon times by an hour, but enabled me to qualify for the prestigious running of the Boston marathon. As a coach, he knew when to encourage and when to sit back and trust in the process. If you are looking for a way to establish new personal goals, push some previous held limits, and ultimately realize success, then I would highly recommend his program.

Running focus:
Slowly building base miles, incorporating efficient speed sessions, and varying the workout terrain are all core principles of the successful training program supplied by Todd Katz. I wasn't a believer of the effects of incorporating speed into my running repertoire until his effective coaching style continually shaved minutes of my short distances and an hour off my marathon distance. The far away goal of obtaining a Boston qualifying time became a reality after listening to Todd's effective running wisdom. If you are looking to obtain your full running potential, then you should sign up for his program.

Determination:
If you want someone in your corner who will personally take on your goals as their own, then you need to sign up for the coaching skills provided by Todd Katz. He will assume the determination and resolve that is needed to get you through the inevitable rough patches. Todd will teach you how to dig deep and to trust in the effects of the methodical training. Success will certainly be achieved on multiple fronts when you have someone behind you encouraging every step of the way.
